What is EWS Reservation Certificate –
The Central Government recently introduced 10% reservation quota for the economically weaker sections (EWS) among the general category candidates in government jobs and educational institutions. However, many EWS reservations are unsure about eligibility.
If you are a qualified candidate from economically weaker section (EWS), we really want you to remember EWS quota in respect to seats in government jobs (like IAS, IPS, etc.) and government institutions (like IIMs and IITs). Should not.
EWS Certificate Eligibility-
1. Are you related to the General category?
10% EWS reservation quota is given only for general category candidates. Other class candidates already have reservation benefits – OBC (27%), SC (15%), and ST (7.5%).
2. Is your family income less than Rs.8 lakhs?
Individuals who are not covered under the reservation scheme for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes and whose family’s gross annual income is less than Rs. 8 lakhs (only eight lakh rupees) for the benefit of reservation, the form of EWS Have to be identified in

3. Does your family have less than 5 acres of agricultural land?
To be classified under EWS, your family should not have ownership or ownership of agricultural land of 5 acres or more.
4. Is the residential flat owned by your family less than 1000 sq.ft?
To be classified under EWS, your family should not own a residential flat of 1000 sq ft or more.
5. Are residential plots less than 100 sq.yards (notified in municipalities) owned by your family?
To be classified under EWS, your family should not have ownership or ownership of residential plots of 100 square meters or more in the notified municipalities.
You note that 100 square yards are equal to 900 square feet or 2 cents (approx).
6. Are residential plots less than 200 square yards (other than notified municipalities) owned by your family?
To be classified under EWS, your family should not be the owner or owner of the residential plot of 200 square meters or more in areas other than the notified municipalities.
You note that 200 square yards are equal to 1800 square feet or 4 cents (approx.)

So far the online did not come in All-State. Only BIHAR state Is Vabable online form to Apply EWS Certificate
Who Will Issue the Certificate
District Magistrate/Additional District Magistrate/ Collector/ Deputy Commissioner/Additional’ Deputy Commissioner/ 1st Class Stipendary Magistrate/ Sub-Divisional Magistrate/ Taluka Magistrate/ Executive Magistrate/ Extra Assistant Commissioner.
Chief Presidency Magistrate/Additional Chief Presidency Magistrate/ Presidency Magistrate
Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tahsildar and
Sub-Divisional Officer or the area where the candidate and/or his family normally resides.
How To Apply:
- Fill Annexure-A Form, and Submit at your Tahasil along with fees.
- In between 15 days, Tahasildar / Addl. Tahasildar will issue the EWS Certificate (Annexure – B)
